The work leading to the creation of this site has initially focused around the mobile work situation of the ship surveyor and his needs for decision support and to efficiently collect information to the DNV knowledge database (see Mobile Worker website from DNV Research above)

For this purpose this site will be the place to keep updated on news and exchange views about ongoing work to make available functionality in mobile units to support the surveyor. This will also be the place to download prototypes as they are being developed.

The PDA (personal digital assistant) is however also emerging as a powerful tool for many other jobs in DNV. It can be by keeping updated on the electronic calendar and e-mails, reading news and downloaded technical documents and a whole lot of other tasks.

For this purpose this site will also be a place to keep updated on latest developments of mobile units in general as well as useful tools and accessories. The site will be updated regularly with interesting links that may be relevant to users of mobile units in our organisation.
