| Global Ballast Water Programme | The Global Ballast Water Management Programme (GloBallast)
is a three year, US$10.2 million initiative under the International Waters portfolio of
the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The GloBallast programme utilises funding from GEF, deployed through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), to allow the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to assist developing countries to tackle the transfer of harmful aquatic organisms in ships ballast water. |

The database provides a basic outline of what the regulations require the owner and master to carry out when calling at the various nations and regions with legislation in place. Furthermore, when information is not detailed, links and points of contact are given for the interested party to gain further information on the said legislation. |
